The Premier Lakewood Ranch Fishing Experience
Lakewood Ranch sits inland along the I-75 corridor, but the Gulf Coast’s best inshore fishing is closer than it looks. You don’t have to give up your stay near the suburbs to spend a day on saltwater — it’s a quick, straightforward drive west to our launch beside the Kingfish Boat Ramp on Anna Maria Island, where a local fishing guide puts you straight onto the flats.
Once you arrive, Captain David White runs Lakewood Ranch anglers across the grass flats of Sarasota Bay and the rich water around Tidy Island and Palma Sola Bay, sight casting Redfish and Snook off Bean Point at the island’s northern tip. In season, tarpon fishing for Lakewood Ranch groups means chasing the Silver Kings at Egmont Key and Passage Key, right where Tampa Bay empties into the Florida Gulf.
Easy Access from Lakewood Ranch
There’s no long haul involved. We launch from our single home dock — the public boat ramp at 6398 Marina Way in Holmes Beach, right by the Kingfish Boat Ramp. From the Lakewood Ranch, FL / I-75 corridor it’s about a 40–50 minute drive west via SR 70 or SR 64, an easy run from the interstate to the coast and onto the water.
